Though often tempted, I have stayed away from writing about politics as much as possible. For the most part, I left it to others to report the positives and negatives in scrutinizing those we hire through our taxes to lead our nation.
Yes, we employ our voted-in governmental people. As employers of teachers, several echelons of policing, and civic, provincial and federal governments, our duty is to be involved. Our employees have demanding jobs that require special qualifications and character. But as with any employer, the "boss" must be involved. We, The People of Canada, are that boss.
It is a complicated and challenging mandate to govern such a diverse nation. We must credit the many public servants who desire equitable fairness in this incredible country. It is easy and unfair to be an "armchair quarterback" as a Christian when we have historically put so little skin in the game. However, I see this changing.
