Are you ready for a New Church?

Most of my time in the church has been in a support role. This has been a unique situation to observe the character and motivation of elders and especially senior pastors.

My critique of the leaders nature would determine how deeply I would trust him to lead me and through me my family. Having been badly burned several times, I realized I could say the forbidden word NO. Much of my prophetic insight is geared to know what makes someone tick. If you would pause for a moment and ponder on the character of someone, you too will realize that you have more ability to “read” someone than you think. We subliminally in the church have been taught that this is a terrible sin, to critique your leader. The true revelation is, authority is equated with trust and it must be earned. You are in charge of your family. A leader who is driven will not respect your authority but will expect you to see his position as sacred.

Many leaders have never been like a sheep under a Shepherd. They have never really submitted to anyone. Always looking for a path to the top, they have one thing driving them and that is success. The qualification to be on top is to be broken from selfish ambition and rather to being driven, they are at rest. I will not trust a leader who I see as driven with the intimate aspect of my inner soul, neither should you.  But lets have a little compassion. I am a Bible College graduate. You better check me out real close. The drive to achieve excellence is your key to success is the school's motto. You may as well be in business college where this motto has a more likely fit. In college, the foundational truth of entering His rest was never discussed. Nor can I remember being given much of the rest of the Word,”he who enters My rest [God’s rest] ceases from his own labours.”

God calls Himself a Father for a reason. He wants sons and daughters at rest and in love with Him. It is not the passion to save the world that will bring the people to God, it is by loving each other. If I may, I would suggest you read A Manifesto of Leadership on the Website here (click on green button below).
